| The White Snake is a Chinese folk legend. The story tells that during Emperor Jiaxing time in Song dynasty, two snake spirits who had become immortal after many years efforts, in name of Bai Suzhen and Xiao Qing, ventured to Xihu Lake in Hangzhou one day and encountered with a young scholar Xu Xian. Bai and Xu fell in love soon. Under the help by the green snake Xiao Qing, they became husband and wife. |
